As most of you know, Exhaust extensions are very very difficult to come by. Suzuki made 200 sets as a part of the touring kit. They are sought after because frankly... they just look good.
I have been fortunate enough to work with a supremely talented craftsman (and I MEAN... TALENTED) who has sent me a set of prototype tips in 303 stainless. They are truly incredible.
However, after the ignition debacle... I have decided the only way I will step up and write the check is if I get deposits up front. My guess is that they will be a final cost of between 450.00 and 500.00 per set.
RULES:
1. If folks want a set, send me an email and we will send an invoice for a deposit of 300.00.
2. It will be NON- Refundable, unless within 90 days I can't deliver... If I don't deliver, I will issue any parties a full refund.
3. When they are ready to ship, I will send an invoice for the balance. If the balance is paid within one week, we will ship. If not, we will go the next person and your deposit is forfeit.
4. The minimum order is 10 sets. I will set aside two sets for me. so I will need 8 takers to get this done...
Best Regards,

Bloody nice work Jess!
Just as a short aside...
Did you not move many ignition kits?
If there are folk on here who don't have one on the bike they ride regularly, you're honestly kidding yourselves.
Jess' inexpensive and exceedingly simple and well made setup is an absolute must-have for a bike that gets ridden regularly, especially on any sort of trip given the age and complexity (and unreplaceability) of the original system.
I'm disappointed to hear that it seems a lot more owners haven't bought one.
Good luck with these tips though, they look beaut!
Cheers Paul

I distinctly remember when these exhaust extensions came out. Suzuki did not make them another company started marketing them before Suzuki marketed them with the touring kit made by Califia and sold by Suzuki. When these extensions were first sold they were marketed as a way to quiet down the RE5 as the original bikes with the larger diameter exhaust outlet were deemed too noisy by quite a few people. When the touring kit was installed the noise was even worse as the fairing blocked the wind noise and the exhaust note reverberated off the saddle bags. The extensions helped this noise issue greatly. At the time these first came out there was no talk about the exhaust residue getting on the saddle bags. Just an FYI.

Wow........several nerd issues answered there for me.
Firstly, what a great looking set of tips. Here's the difficult question, as i already own 1% of world production and don't need a set per se, I would love to pay up front to buy a pair of internal tubes. Is this possible ?
Secondly, the touring kits were made by Califia...thank you Dan, a question answered that has long eluded me.
Thirdly- ahaaa... the noise issue. The exhaust tips make NO difference to noise levels on a naked bike tested with a db meter. Thus my photo post some time ago about how to make a noticeable reduction in noise by packing them. However, this explains it. It certainly could work in that fashion.
Something else that my wife complained about when I first got the fairing and rode without tips was that the bike was enveloped in exhaust whenever at a stop or at low speed. The fairing seemed to create a low pressure bubble behind it sucking back the exhaust fumes. Perhaps the tips inadvertently help this as well.
Finally, I rode without tips for a long time and there was certainly no evidence of burning or discolouring the bags so I was always dubious about that one.
Thanks..........but I would be interested in some internals if possible.

Well...
I went ahead and pulled the trigger on these units. My first, and only, order will arrive this week.
Since I have not had any takers, I guess I will enough for my personal bikes from here on out...
Best,
