Very nice looking fairing. I've never seen one like that on an RE5.

I believe he was looking for around 10 k for it . He also has 5 other re5 bikes for sale between 5 to 10 k . He was in Melbourne Australia

I reckon that's a crock of s***.
The quality of the RE5 touring fairing is, for the day, outstanding. And it's a very neat and well thought out fit on the bike with very strong high quality fittings.
That looks like nothing of the sort. Just look at the cutout around the air horn amongst other things.
And what, he does 30 kph faster with that thing on......so he does 200 kph plus on his RE5. Yeah, I'd believe that..........as much as I'd believe the fairing story.
Wayne
EDIT: okay, delve further into the listing and in the Q+A section is information that shows that it is indeed a crock of s***.

Whoa steady on there Wayne! I think what he meant was that he got the same buffeting 30kmh faster with the fairing on, not top speed....
He does also admit that the information was passed on to him and he is just trying to jazz up the description to sell the bike... any true RE5 person would know that the fairing was aftermarket. Even I knew that- way too ugly to be a factory job!

Exactly..........that's what annoyed me.......trying to jazz up the description of what looks like a well tampered piece of crap.
I don't think it's okay if any true RE5 person would know. After all, he apparently has 6 RE5's and he didn't know.......well, apparently didn't know 'til somebody pointed out the truth.
Many potential buyers would not be "true RE5 persons" but someone looking to get into them. So it's no excuse.
Yes, mea culpa, I didn't read his 30 kph faster well enough, it'd already given me the..........

I must admit I thought he should know better if he has 5 or 6 RE5's. He probably should have sold the bike at that price as well- $5K isn't bad for a reasonable non original bike with a couple of issues. Who knows- maybe he did end up selling it outside the auction.

I agree, about 5K would have been reasonable. But if he was hoping for 10K, then perhaps he's jumping on the bandwagon along with a few others who have been asking ridiculous prices for their RE5's..........maybe Jay's been doing the new buyer a disservice.
All the ones we got from RR were fairly priced for what they were. I had one friend pay 12K here in Oz but he desperately wanted a bike, had done for some time and this one was very clean albeit a little overrpriced (remembering that a 5 miler went for under 13K not long ago over here).
