Just wondering if anyone has a magic way to get the spring on to the centre stand, I'm sure someone has got a magic way to clip it on ! Thanks in advance Mark

It is not a fun job. I have found that if you connect the spring with the stand pivot shaft out and then insert the shaft through the frame mount and just start the shaft into one end of the stand. You can then pull the stand into position and push the shaft through. This will take some wiggling and a fair amount of bad language but it can be done.

There is an old fashioned method that involves inserting a washer between each coil of the spring; by the time you have inserted 15 washers or so the spring will be a whole lot longer, fit it and then remove one washer at a time.
I tried it once just to see if it worked and it did......bit of a fiddle but it worked.

i use a ienght of strong string double looped hook it over the spring put a screwdriver through the loop and pull then cut string and pull out.

I use the same method as Steve but use a good pair of spare laces from my trainers. Z
