For an RE5 what is considered high mileage? Anyone know what the high mileage record for an RE5 is? Mine shows 60,000 miles on the clock.......

Years ago I bought a 1975 RE5m new - when I sold it I had 89,000 miles on it and it was running fine.

This would be a good one for RR to come in on. I have 4 bikes, the highest mileage is 18,000, the lowest is 2,700. I tracked down the 18K owner, an old man now who purchased the bike new. He rode it until it would not run properly. He said the service dept. at the Suzuki dealer could not keep it running due to lack of knowledge about the bike, so he parked it. I know of a blue bike at a junk yard with 200 miles on it!

The 18K bike is even low mileage - that's just an average of 500 miles per year.

Got a call from a fellow yesterday that had one with 85,000 miles on it...
He relayed a story about his friend who had 120,000 on his before he replaced the proper.
The engine will do 100K if it is cared for properly.
The two things that decimate an engine in a matter of minutes... Really!
Overheating
Loss of lubrication
Best,
