Got my parts from RR last week. Has to order spark plugs for the adapter. Finally came in today. Adapter from Jess is real pretty. Someone did some fine machine work. Good thing I still had an old craftsmen 14mm socket as my MAC was too thick to fit into the adapter. Also installed my new check valve. The old one was still checking properly but better safe than sorry. I've put a little more than 100 miles on so far. Oil tank is going down accordingly so pump seems to be working. I took it over to the Suzuki shop in Winterset,Iowa on Tuesday. The boys in the shop were pretty impressed. The head mechanic said it was the first RE5 he had seen being ridden and running in the 30 years he had been a mechanic. I have to pull the tank and rebuild the petcock next. It seems to be getting enough fuel to run, don't know if reserve works or not. But when draining the tank reserve was very slow. I will probably Kreem the tank while I have it off. Not much riding season left here for the year. So I guess I will just keep detailing and cleaning all the little spots on the bike.

Thanks for the compliments. We work very hard to produce the best parts we can within certain costs. The adaptors were a labor of love.
If I order another run, I will make the correction about the socket recess, as I was using my old tools as well.
I would be cautious with Kreem... In my humble opinion, Kreem is not the best product out there.
I have used Bill Hirsch products for years after a Kreem "disastor"

I was a dealership mechanic for 15, and I've also seen a few CREAM catastrophies. I myself did use it succesfully many years ago, but I've seen so many failures that I would try another product. The local radiator shop guy, who is a Triumph nut, told me to just etch the tanks and then rinse and dry, then roll a little Marvel mystery oil around in it. RE5's have a very high tunnel that makes tank cleaning and treating a pain.

I have Kreemed two tanks in the past. The first is long gone. The 2nd is my 1967 Suzuki Bearcat and so far so good. I did etch the tank extra good. Dumped and filled 3 times to get it all. When I got it , it had close to 1 1/2" of a almost tar like substance in the bottom. Gas from 1971 when it was last ran. I guess it was turning back to crude. Anyway so far its holding up well. The current RE tank has a fuzz of rust through it. Someone maybe Jess put a seethrough fuel filter with a 90 degree bend out the side. Makes it easy to see gas in it. Doesn't really look like anything (rust) is going into it. I just want to stop any further rusting. I keep the tank full most of the time. And never use alcohol gas. I had the tank on my '79 GS 1000E literally rust to pieces. I think those tanks were made from old '74 Chevy pick ups. They rusted about equally. I haven't heard of this other product before. I have seen the POR products but never tried anything else.
