If I drain my radiator and the block via the hex head screw, is there any trapped water that I have to worry about if it freezes outside? I'm not ready to put antifreeze in it yet and I don't want to have to worry about it. Thanks!

antifreeze is cheap insurance...
Fill the bike and don't worry about it.
Best,
Jess

If you drained at the block as well as the radiator there shouldn't be enough water to worry about. Honestly though if its going to be sitting out in the cold I would still put some anti-freeze in to be safe

Hi all,
I have some parts on order from Sam but I just don't know if I'll have the cooling system all sealed up before the cold hits. The bike is in my garage and it does not get below freezing unless it's REALLY cold outside but if somebody leaves the doors up then it will freeze of course. I just don't want to keep loosing antifreeze. I guess I can just collect it and reuse it. I know that antifreeze is very dangerous for animals and that it's sweet smelling.

If you prefer not to fill it up with antifreeze due to the situation you described maybe just add a little antifreeze to the tank so it will get a chance to mix with any standing water in the system if there is any.

Not a bad idea. Thanks. Hopefully I'll have the cooling system all fixed up before the really cold hits... I can always put a light bulb or space heater next to it if it gets cold out.

You can use RV antifreeze. It's cheep and biodegradable. Just flush with water and fill with antifreeze when your ready.
