Is there a paint that is close in match to the original color for the red paint for the RE5? This would be for the bottom of the tank and a very small area that could be seen so I would like to be somewhat close to the original so it isn't noticeable right away.

The Re5 paint was a three step process that is next to impossible to replicate exactly.
Stage one... Silver base coat Stage two... Metal flake Stage three... Translucent red or blue top coat.
I sent some original paint to have it laser scanned and replicated by a customer who works for PPG.
I have some code that I can email, I have not been sucessful in attaching them to my post...
Best,
Jess

How about nail polish? I'm going to try to get a match, I'll let you know what I find. My daughter has some pretty close stuff, its metalic and shiny.

I tried the RS touch up Mike, three little bottles in all, made a mess of it and gave up, not tried the rattle can though.

Never heard of rs bike paint. Look up a review on google. Looks like the paint does not hold up to fuel. Nail polish probably won't hold up either, but I think I'm going to give it a try anyway and just avoid spilling anything.
