So before I booger up my chrome fork dust cap/seals, I thought I'd ask the correct way to remove them from the fork lowers. Do I just stick a flat blade screw driver in the little slots and tap them free, or is there a trick. Mine seem to be stuck pretty good. Thanks! Greg

Get a very sharp and straight flat bit screwdriver that fits the full width pf the slot this guarantees it wont slip and damage the little recessed area. Lay the fork leg in a vise held the upper using soft jaws so it wont damage the surface and its easy to tap at the slots. Give it one sharp rap at a an angle almost parallel to the leg pressing into the slot, then turn it and do the other side, sometimes it take a few hits on each side before you'll see it BARELY move. Do each side so it moves square, its the punch mark thats really keeping it tight the first time they are moved as its making a grooved slot up to the top in the alloy. Take your time, keep it moving squarely and dont baby it, but dont be brutal. Watch the slot when hitting, not the hammer or the screwdrivers head so you better be good, a real good hitter.
