Hi guys has any one had this problem? I have a clear fuel filter on the bike and as I ride I can watch the thing empty out and the bike starts to sputter and stall. I stop and pulled the screw out of the carb in the bottom of the bole and the fuel comes right out I can empty the tank no problem. Put the screw back and the same thing i watch the fuel filter empty out. And no it is not a vent thing with the tank, I can take the cap off the tank as I ride and still no fuel flow. I am very good with a wrench and been around engines all my life. But this one has me baffled.

Hi Bill Q,
i still think its a vent problem, the vent in the tank cap only vents the tank and not the fuel lines or carb (i think) the vent/bypass hose from the right hand side of the fuel tap to the bottom of the tank is the one that vents the carb and fuel iine, and tap. i would check that the vent hose, hole in the bottom of the tank and the connection on the fuel tap for any blockages.
just a thought

We must assume that the vacuum pipe is connected from the inlet manifold to the petcock.
If so then I think the the diaphragm may not be working as this is what pumps the petrol to the carb, worth a look inside.

when i give suggestions i assume people have checked all the basics, if you have not checked the tap diaphragm is working properly then that is most likely the problem.

OK Guys I found the problem. It is the vent in the carb the small hole under the oil inlet. I didn't see it the first time around I thought the hole with the filter on it was the vent for the bole. All good now the RE runs great now ;D
