Fork oil is kind of a "touchy" subject... Kind of like the dreaded oil thread.
Fork oil types can vary greatly, depending upon use, rider weight, type of riding, ect.
I almost always use ATF, unless someone tells me they want a specific product. It is much more inexpensive than HondaSuzukikawasakiYamahaHD brand fork oil.
If you dont like the ride... change it until you get the damping you desire.
The important piece is that you do NOT overfill. You will blow out the seals.
Just my 2 cents...
Best,
Jess

OK the can of worms is opened. I was told by a ( "Restorer" Don't know if he is good or not) he recommended a small amount of transmission cleaner (Sea Foam) to be added to the ATF in the fork. Has any one heard of this or Urbain legend?

The premise is that it would help make the fork seal last longer.
