After a long delay in rebuilding the re5m I have started back on its restoration. I finished connecting up as much of the wiring loom as practicable. All seemed to be working ok..... except the front brake switch. Oh, I thought, I must have left it off in the past.
After much messing about, I finally read that the UK bikes did not have the switch. Despite the wiring loom having the 3 pin connector in place. Who were they kidding. My GT750L came with a front brake switch..... so why not the re5??.
Anyway, a 3p connector is now on its way in the post. Another "little" job to be done.

I replaced the Suzuki front brake light switch with a banjo bolt pressure operated brake light switch so no more wondering if the light works when the lever is pulled, did it on my Bonneville as well.

I had to order the female part of the front brake switch in the headlight. This one -
I didn't want to cut the loom to use the bullet connectors that came with a new handlebar switch I already have. I have used one of those banjo bolt pressure switches on my xs650 xs2. Works well. I have those traditional brake switches on my other old Suzuki bikes - the gt750 & gt550.
I am still surprised that Suzuki decided to leave the brake switch off. Must have saved them tuppence.
