Just thought I'd throw this out there. Have just found out that, unfortunately, the National Motorcycle Museum in Anamosa, Iowa will be closing. The board of directors have voted to close the doors on September 5th this year. It is reported that they simply couldn't continue to pay staff and utilities to stay open. They are currently returning loaned bikes to their owners and eventually most of the Jill and John Parham (who helped start the museum) collection will be sold. The building will then be sold. This was a very enjoyable day trip destination for those of us in the Midwest, or from anywhere for that matter. They, of course had the place full of the highest quality bikes and displays, and just about everything motorcycle you could imagine. To visit the museum and then possibly continue on out to the edge of town to JP Cycles, one could spend a full day immersed in all things motorcycle. Sad news

Hope your message encourages visitors, sad to loose what appears a great gathering of motorcycle history.
My personal favourite is Sammy Millers Motorcycle Museum, Hampshire, UK. Sammy is now close on 90 years old, and still rides. His website is a good visit also.

janski, As far as encouraging visitors, it would be for visitors to get a last look because, unfortunately the closing looks like it's a done deal.

Sad news www.msn.com/en-us/autos/enthusiasts/300-bikes-for-sale-as-national-motorcycle-museum-closes/ar-AA1arXYX?ocid=msedgdhp&pc=U531&cvid=03bdc0f0d9194833b103b9243d6e53b3&ei=10An interesting look into the museum. The first look is a TM-400, one other bike I no longer have. Tim
