I recently purchased a 1975 RE5 with the round spaceship turn signals. The bike came to me partly disassembled, including the rear turn signals
I can't for the life of me figure out how to mount them. It appears that they mount on the bolt holding the rear fender on, but I seem to be missing whatever connects them to that bolt.
Can someone please post a picture of the mounting so I have an idea what I'm looking for. The parts manuals show something that looks like a short hollow bolt that I apparently do not have.
Also if anyone knows where I could purchase a couple of the mounts, I'd be extremely grateful.
Thanks all.
Regards, Larry

Probably the quickest explanation. Part #15 became unobtanium many years ago. They were not chrome, I think just zinc plated steel. They have been remanufactured a couple of times. You could try Stuart (Member T140V), he may have some AM. Also, go here and download the manuals including the parts book: re5rotary.proboards.com/thread/379/re5-parts-service-manuals-online

Welcome to the RE5 community Larry!
I had that problem when I first got my model A in 1994. It had no turn signals mounted on it so when I bought some GT750 signals from a junkyard I was puzzled about its mounting system. This was before I met Sam so with no internet to speak of so I made an executive decision to drill and tap the frame to fit the signals. They don't stick out as much but its been that way since 1995. Threaded a short bolt inside the fender into the newly tapped hole and that's how the fender stays on. Works fine.
Its definitely unnecessary to drill and thread the frame nowadays since proper turn signal bosses are now available. Stuarts polished stainless signal bosses are beautiful btw! Pictures of them are somewhere in this forum.

Thanks guys, I sent a message to Stuart, keeping my fingers crossed that he can ship to the states since he's in the UK.
The guy I bought the bike from informed me that he forgot to give me the exhaust pipes, I'm hoping that he has some additional parts but it doesn't sound like it. If not, I'll be back to try to find some additional parts.
Best, Larry

Larry: In the case that you don't get the exhaust from the seller, I sent you a message regarding a spare exhaust that I have for sale. Hopefully you can get everything for your bike and have a great summer with it. Cheers!

Thanks Al. I'm planning to go get the pipes this weekend so I will know by Monday if I need a replacement exhaust system.

Re the turn signal mounts, Stuart responded right away and is working on a set as soon as he finishes another project. I'm hoping to have a quote shortly and will order as soon as I hear from him. Makes me very happy!

Just to update, I received the turn signal mounts from Stuart and they are a work of art. Very pleased and I'm planning on several more items from him.
Thanks for the kind offer Al, I did get the exhaust pipes and they're in decent shape. I'm going to see how well they clean up but I think they'll work well.
