Stopped in my local Suzuki / Yamaha dealer to order some parts for my sons blaster. This is a small town, old school dealership, nothing real fancy just an old building with friendly knowledgeable people. Anyways, I ordered my parts and the guy asked me if I needed anything else. I said well, I could really use a throttle cable for an RE5 that I am rebuilding. He brought up the film and asked which one I needed. I pointed to the pull cable. He walked away and 5 minutes later returned with a NOS cable in hand!  I still can't believe it! I was happy to give him what he asked for dollar wise and walked out with a brand new throttle cable and big smile on my face! 

So now I am a lower radiator hose, water neck adapter and some decent weather away from trying to bring another RE5 back to running!

I've got a mate down here who's in the habit of doing just that. Every small country town we stop in, he visits the local bike dealer and sees what parts he's got. Believe it or not, he also got two complete throttle cable sets at one place a few years back. $8 each!
