From FB, member Mack Burns, a question re the breaking of sidecover tabs. Apparently this is common from the responses. Having said that, my side cover tabs survived 35 years and to be honest, only broken due to an impatient removal. Here's a couple of repairs. From Mike Too on FB: I made this repair on my own bike using only araldite. It's still there despite being made in 2010:

Excellent repair! I had not heard of Araldite - but must be similar to JB Weld.
I came across this video a few weeks ago and thought you all might be interested. This fellow tests many different products and it's always entertaining.

Thanks for the links.
Araldite is as old as the hills. Was around in the sixties and probably earlier. Two part mix, usually available in a 5 minute or much longer version. Doesn't look anything like JB, don't think it would be very heat resistant but it's a reliable and solid bond.

Interesting tests for different types of stress and strength for sure.
It is always a good time to check there is no resistance to remove or install either side covers.
RH side might be wiring harness not properly routed or in the case of earlier 75s not properly secured
in the harness bracket.
The LH side may be an oil tank that is not optimally in place or has dropped down in time.
Both sides may benefit from massaging or aligning the frame tabs.
Who knows, the tabs may have been that way since being welded on at the factory.
