Got a phone call at work the other day from my good lady to say that an envelope from the DVLA had arrived and would I like her to open it? YES! It was the V5 for my RE5, so I immediately got a number plate made up and rang my insurance company. HOORAH!...then the heavens opened and Storm Francis made an appearance Fast forward to yesterday and the sun was shining, the forecast was good so I took a day off and rolled "ONTI" the RE5 (named by Rog ) out of the garage and headed West onto the roads round the Cotswolds. Smooth motor, precise gearbox, effortless handling (which is more than can be said for manhandling her backwards out of the garage LOL). After about 35 miles I dropped in at work for a coffee and to take a few photographs. To be honest I was just showing off Then I was Eastbound along the quiet back roads of Gloucestershire and then on the the faster A roads to give her a bit of a gallop (nothing too mental, I'm running her in as per the manual). Overtakes were a breeze. None of this dropping two cogs like I do on my kettle. Then back home after 50 entertaining and smile-inducing miles. I checked her over and all was good, fluid levels good, chain tension good. Waited for her to cool off and gave her a wipe down ready for tomorrow (today)....and the heavens opened Anyway. I had some doubts when I first asked Rog if he would rebuild this bike for me. I, like many others, had read loads of negative press about the RE5, but I'm so happy that I went for it. She is heavy, she is dated, she is complicated.....she is beautiful and she is fun to ride. Hope you like the photos

Nice story and lovely pictures, the brick backdrop works as well as Rog has.
