Hey, guys. I am trying to clean up my old master cylinder on my 75M and seem to be having a problem with the return port. The port where the fluid goes from the cylinder to the brakes is now fine, but the return port is not cooperating at all. If I am missing something here, feel free to blast me. I can take some ribbing if it gets my machine one step closer to running.
Love the headlight I got from Mr. Stockwell!
Thanks,MZ

I cannot see or actually determine that there is a hole in the return port. I have dug around with a tiny pick and only pulled wee bits of metal away. I have worked on several master cylinders that were in bad shape, but you could at least see the hole. This is very frustrating. It is currently soaking in a barrel of chemtool. I have already soaked it in there for a day, so I guess I'll give it a couple more.
I found the post earlier when I was researching the MC. I will certainly use it when I finally get to put it back together.
Thanks. MZ

The hole is there... Otherwise the cylinder would have never worked.
I use dental drills or very fine welding tip cleaners. Some very fine jet files may work as well.
Whatever you do... don't drill the port oversize. You can very easily ruin the cylinder.
Best of luck...

Thanks. I have it soaking in some solvent right now. I going to buy another used one and hope that it is in better shape than mine. No drilling, I copy. I'll share results as they take place. Thanks. MZ
