I got 30 MPG on this tank. Seems high to me. I was expecting the low 20's. What does everybody else get?
(Granted it was just 1 tank so errors can magnify themselves...)

I can't tell you from personal experience but all the road tests that I have read and people that I have talked with state that the low 30 mpg range is the norm. That's what I am hoping I get with mine.

I have kept very accurate records for the last 11 years. Generally around 37 mp imperial gallon over that time (without correcting odometer error).
Recently, with the bike in the best state of tune it's ever been I returned on two tanks almost 42 mp imperial gallon using 95 octane fuel on fairly brisk rides sitting around 100 to 130 kph. The odometer error is 4% by GPS with a Metzeler Lasertech front tyre.
Just an aside, I think later models may have had a shorter reserve standpipe than the M models. I'll have to check the book but that rings a bell (ie longer time before hitting reserve).
I've never checked my standpipe length but typically 170klm to reserve (107 miles) and recently a PB of 192 or about 120 miles. My rider is a late M model but with the full tour kit. The average is dual and the latest figures were solo.

When I had my first RE back in '83 I managed 2 laps of the TT circuit in the Isle Of Man before reserve kicked in (about 75 miles) but that was riding it pretty hard on Mad Sunday

Hi Mike, It must be a pig trying to decide what to ride there I only have the choice of going on the RE or a newish Thruxton or the old flying machine. We are camping in Douglas on a footie ground next to the pits. Just going for a few days from the 4th till the 8th Ray

Just for interest. We all topped our fuel and then two of us rode with a Z900 at pretty brisk pace.
Very twisty road with lots of hard acceleration out of very low speed corners. Spent lots of time in the 5000 to 7000 rpm band and generally ballpark hovering between 120 and 160 on the open sections. Immediately after the ride we all pulled up together and topped the fuel again.
The Z used 4.95 litres solo. I used 5.15 litres at the pump with full tour kit. Another RE dual used 5.4 litres.
Compared to the Z, not bad for a bike that supposedly gulps prodigous amounts of fuel.
And those figures corrected for odometer error give about 34.4 mp imperial gallon on my bike.
