Just a note on the exhaust silencers available in 1975 and 1976. My employment at Irv Seavers Suzuki, BSA, Triumph, Ossa BMW Indian was quite an experience. My Boss was a big fan of the GT-750 right after his original Chief! Irv always had a current year bike available as both a demo and his personal favored bike for sponsored weekend tours. The silencers were made up on our shop demo after the turn signals were remounted on Calafia saddlebags, another local manufacturer, near the exhaust outlets. J&R was a most popular and local 2 stroke expansion chamber manufacturer. They sold their stock to S and S headers in Anaheim and when I went to have new silencers made up for Lemans members, they had, just a short time earlier, thrown out the backing plates to the J&Rs not knowing what they were good for. I had some made anyway . Not the fine tapered fit but a much improved baffle from a then popular tri-moto that has stood the test of many cross country trips with out any rattles or loss of muffling.
My pencil notes at the bottom
