Just a note on the exhaust silencers available in 1975 and 1976. My employment at Irv Seavers Suzuki, BSA, Triumph, Ossa BMW Indian was quite an experience. My Boss was a big fan of the GT-750 right after his original Chief! Irv always had a current year bike available as both a demo and his personal favored bike for sponsored weekend tours. The silencers were made up using our shop RE5 ( from my memory) after the turn signals were remounted on Calafia saddlebags, another local manufacturer, near the exhaust outlets. J&R was a most popular and local 2 stroke expansion chamber manufacturer. They, years later, sold their stock to S and S headers in Anaheim, just down the street from me and when I went to have new additional silencers made up for Lemans members, they had, just a short time earlier, thrown out the backing plates to the J&Rs not knowing what they were good for. I had some made anyway . Not the fine tapered fit but a much improved baffle from a then popular tri-moto that has stood the test of many cross country trips with out any rattles or loss of muffling, pictured here.
