Hi guys, I'm a new member (was on about four years ago,but my membership run out). I have started to work on my re,it's a 75 model. A few things I need to know, has any body got a wiring diagram ?.I have been trying to sort out the electrics. I can get all the lights on,brake lights and horn etc. When I push the start button nothing happens, I've cleaned all the plug connectors I can find, changed the main power leads, the fuse holder, cleaned the switches. When I turn the key to position one all the dash lights up as it should, position two some lights go off but the start button is dead ( kill switch off). Has the cdi unit got any thing to do with the problems I'm experiencing ?.If I remove the solenod wire and connect it to the battery the engine turns over. I'm running out of ideas.

Hi there, Not sure if I am reading your post correctly but there are differences in comparing a Honda kill switch and a Suzuki kill switch wiring as they are different as you are describing. The first key position is a bulb check only position. The more common problem is Honda owners cranking their bike but no spark with the Kill switch on . Suzuki disables both the Starter and the CDI when the kill switch is on. The Orange wires are battery feed, trace out the kill switch connector carefully.

On mine the starter still turns on the button with the kill switch off.
Check your wiring including whether the starter button is working electrically.

Thanks timpa136 and goandy, for pointing me in the right direction, been out there all day.Turns out power is not getting from the key switch to the starter button and run switch.I connected a length of wire from the live side of the battery and touched each wire in turn to the three blades inside the female connector that couples up the right hand handlebar switch.Firstly the engine cranked over, then the cdi unit started to whine.I put the plug back in and a quick squirt of ether and she fired. Happy days, just get the carb cleaned out and hopefully it will run.
