An old boy in Booneville Missouri owned a well drilling company and passed away recently. His widow decided to sell off the drilling equipment in an estate sale. In the middle of all the bits, pipe, trucks and heavy equipment was this:
One owner, purchased new in November of 1976. I have the original title, and even the warranty card issued with the bike. It turns over, but the clutch is stuck. It does shift through the gears. His widow interviewed me to make sure I was worthy to own it, even though I had won it at auction and had already paid for it. I was very nice to her, she was so sweet. A nephew wanted the bike and for some reason she didn't want him to have it. A few years back he tore it down but couldn't put it back together and she said they paid a motorcycle shop over $2000 to put it back together and make it run. It turns out the old boy that owned it had bad eyesight and couldn't ride but he liked to start it up and listen to it run. I agree with him 100%. That explains the low miles.
I just wish he would have stored it in a garage instead of an open equipment shed. It needs some TLC. I was going to use it for parts but now I just can't.
When I washed it when I got it back to the house a spider about the size of a dinner plate jumped out of it. If anyone wants that let me know....
