Has anybody done the GT750 fork mod on their RE5? I forsee a front end overhaul in the future and was considering the mod as long as I have it apart. I did it to the GT750 I just finished, but havent beat on it yet to see how it works. I was thinking of also getting alloy wheels on it, updated shocks, and bronze swingarm bushings to help cure "wallowing" I get in turns.

Updated shocks, cast wheels will help a great deal.
I always make bronze swing arm bushings for my bikes... Sam may even stock them.
Really helps...
Best,
Jess

Pete a lot of people brazed the hole but i just tapped it and used a grub screw i made out of cutting a screw shaft about a few mms long and placing a slot in one end of it. Then i used some red loctite in the threads to secure it firmly, once done the outer surface is totally flush to the pipe. The oils viscosity also plays a part in the dampening effect, or lack of it in this case, and the forks also had various oil levels over the years so make sure you use the 74 type specs for the M forks. The bronze bushings are good but theres also some needle bearing kits available for the Buffalo that can be retrofitted to the RE5s rear pivot in case you want to make it even better.
