While my carb is off I'd like to get it cleaned. Does any typical motorcycle shop do ultrasonic carb cleaning? I would just as soon get it done locally.
I got the rebuild kit from Sam.
1) Any gotcha's on rebuilding the carb? Like "if you remove this, springs will jump out at you...". 2) Should I have it cleaned before I go though it with the rebuild kit? (I would think so...)
Thanks!

I have never had a carb cleaned at a motorcycle shop... So I can't really say...
You might call some of your local shops and ask...
The carb is a very complex unit... It will need to be completely disassembled and placed in the ultrasonic for about 45 minutes...
There are about 12 jets ( don't remember off the top of my head)... most are removable... One is not...
There are three seperate diaphrams, and several linkages...
Best suggestion... Make LOTS of notes and drawings...
Good luck!
Best,
Jess

I went ahead and sent the carb to Sam for him to do his magic. Can't go wrong there.

Good plan... Sam knows these bikes better than anyone and his work is top shelf... Nobody does it any better!
You will be happy, and your bike will thank you...
Best,
Jess
