I have started to stip down this unit that was seized . I had sealed off the exhaust port and filled the proper with a petrol/ oil mix a few months ago with the hope the apex seals and tips would work loose again, It now has no compression at all so after looking at the color of the oil remaining in the sump (Black ) I decided to stip the unit down. On removing clutch cover was shocked to see the the condition of the primary chain, it was streached so much it almost touching the side. Attachments:

Afrer removing centre bolt I found a swinging arm spindle is the write size thread and a good length to be used as a slide hammer with a weight to remove the alternator rotor. Attachments:

40 mm Deep socket needed , Not 41mm as stated by Suzuki. Standard socket sold as service tool for a PEUGEOT 305-405 for about £10

Port valve nice and free but , cables were a bit fiddley , i am not looking forward to putting them back on. Thats if it ever gets compression again.

Hi Rog I'm following your thread with interest. I may be biting the bullet shortly and attempting a strip down of a proper unit. Good luck, keep the info coming Ray

The unit is totally shot. I find it hard to believe that this unit ran until it did all this damage. Rog
