Guess the problem isn't ignition or spark plug. New spark plug and the electronic ignition but today on ride in to work had the stalling issues again.
Seems to be related to higher RPM of riding on highway. After a couple minutes starts just cutting out, but after I get it going again I can keep RPM's down to 2000 or so and ride all the way home. I don't think it's fuel issue as I never see air in the clear inline filter, guess I need to find a wiring diagram.

I would as a test remove the inline filter and fit one a piece pipe and see if that improves it maybe at higher rpms the filter is not d delivering enough fuel, some of these filters cause a lot of problems.
just a thought and costs nothing to try!

True, I will try that and make some trips around the block. Thanks for the idea.

Evening Tom
Dont forget the internal filter in the carb section 7-1 item 10 if there have been problems with the internal filters in the tank and fuel tap some crap may have found its way into the carb before the external filter was fitted.
Regards Stuart.

Thanks Stuart, I have had the carb apart so many times lately I know that filter is good and clean. But I should pull the tank off and check out the screens in there as well. good reminder

also check the fuel cap is venting a blocked vent can cause the tank to vacumn and cause fuel starvation regards mike p.s easy ay to check is when the fault appears undo the cap and check for a hiss as air rushes in if it does this the vent is blocked

Evening Tom, how much fuel did you have in the tank? I went out for a ride today knowing I was going to hit reserve, my bike showed similar symptoms, rough running and cutting out at high revs, then starting again, would run ok at low revs then cut out. Called in at filling station put 11.5 litres in and all problems solved.
Stuart.

Mine isn't fuel level related, I had a full tank when the problem first surfaced. Didn't think about the fuel cap venting though, I will check that.
