Hello, Sorry for filling up the board. Trying to get my bike into a local show and they need pictures by the end of the month for consideration so I'm doing everything at once... Started to fit the pieces that have been sitting on the shelf since I bought it. The left side cover was fine. The right cover is missing the top two tabs. Has anyone epoxied or fashioned someway around missing tabs on the side covers? Other than the missing tabs the cover is perfect. Also, how about the screw in knobs, mine are missing. Any reasonable substitutes available? Parts just sitting on bike, but its starting to come together. www.cyclerestorer.com/pages/restoration_pics_view.php?bef_aft_row=21&td_var=42Regards, redbug2

I sold a side cover last that had been repared by useing some aloy sheet cut to the slot shape and glued/aroldited on the under side /inside of the cover and painted . This you could not see once fitted to the bike as the seat covers up the slots. Rog

The aloy sheet and glue is probably the way to go, thanks, I'll give that a try.

I repaired my missing tab by cutting a slot in a piece of 1/8 X 1 1/2" aluminum strap. I took JB Weld and glued it to the inside of the cover. It is not visible and sems to be stronger than the original tab.

Evening all,
I used 1.5" X .0625" black pvc strip out of a toolbox separator kit chopped to length then cut the slot with a dremmel cutting disk.
I used a glue gun to attach the slotted plastic to the side panel.
A very quick repair, but side panel feels solid.
Regards Stuart.

Both the knobs (battery cover) and correct screw (Oil tank cover) are available from Jess at RR.
