Here are a few pictures of my 76. I brought it home last year from across Phoenix in my rotary engine pick-up (REPU), cleaned it up and took a couple pics in the back yard. It had sat in a chicken coupe in Kansas for 22 years, then in somebody's backyard in Phoenix for 2 years, then I got it home. Took the carb off and cleaned it up, rebuilt the fuel petcock, and put in new gas. Fired right up first shot! You can see in the last picture I have the wrong tail light. Need to get that sorted out and the bike is in really good original shape otherwise. Well, that and the tank was painted and somebody added pin stripes to the side plastics. That first night, my roommate was even able to kick start it... I still cant say that I have been able to do the same. Guess that is a skill I am lacking.

Excellent!! It sounds like it is running really well also. REPU is cool too. Do you have the RE5 licensed and on the road? How in the world did he kick it over so easily? Mine is really hard to kick over but luckily the electric start works well.

The RE5 runs really well except for a good hesitation when under high load. It isnt really RPM related, just high load like when I give it throttle to pass somebody or otherwise accelerate. I am thinking maybe my spark plug is getting worn and maybe not able to fire through the rich mixture condition under load. Its the same plug that was in it when I got the re5 and I have never had it out. It is licensed and on the road, but didnt pass Phoenix emissions so I have it registered in Tucson... Maricopa County is to my knowledge the only place in the whole world where a motorcycle needs emissions testing. I have no idea how he kicked it so easily, I still cant do it. Luckily my electric start works well also. So where are pics of your RE5?

That amazes me that he kicked it over like that. Is his name Superfoot or something? He doesn't look that heavy either. I will post some pics of my RE5 when I am on my other computer that has all my pics.
