I should possibly know this, but I don't, so I'm asking you lot cos I bet you do............... 1 How many RE5's did they make in the 2 years production, and 2 how many were sold in the UK, and.......... 3 How many are there known to be in the UK now. I'm looking forward to your answers.

I think Jess (Rotary Recycle) just made a reply somewhere around a week or so ago stating how many RE'5s were made overall for each year but I can't find it right at the moment. It's somewhere here in the recent posts.
As far as how many are in the U.K., that's a hard one. Not sure if anyone has the answer to that.

According to 'The Hamlyn Guide to Japanese Motorcycles' by C.J. Ayton the total amount of RE5 sales in the UK was "less than 400 units". Assume that total sales is for both the M and A models combined.
I have no way of validating this number, but as I personally never saw an RE5 on the UK roads during the late 70's then maybe this number is accurate.
The book also states that the RE5 was quietly withdrawn from the official Suzuki model line up in 1977.
Assume that Suzuki UK will have accurate sales figures for the RE5.

I'd unofficially heard there were about 250 RE5Ms sold in the U.K., not long ago I read an article about Heron Suzuki the official importers during the RE5 era and they claimed it to be as little as 118. I'm also led to believe there were only a very small number and by that I mean you can count them on one or maybe two hands of 'A' models ever officially imported.

Thank you Gents, that's interesting, I wonder how many ebay has been responsible for in latter years. (that wasn't a question, don't panic)
