Thanks Jess, for your advice regarding the adaptor.I want to run the original designed plugs in my RE5's as I think they are part of the heritage of these bikes as much as the roll-top instrument case or carb etc.Gonna have to be careful trying to remove the adaptor on the A.I might try some penetrating oil and/or maybe some heat .Not sure what metal the adaptors are made from so maybe heating the two metals might be bad due to differing expansion rates.Don't want to ruin the motor as it's only done 22000 miles.Cheers,Shaun.

it would be nice to have a good ,economical plug choice, its very frustrating trying to track down a ignition problem when you are forced to change a 32.00$ plug just to make sure its not the problem. i think my ignition problem was just a connection foobar but i still had to pop for a plug. more info please. i will ride it till i sell it

I have the original plug in my 74. I just clean it once in a while. Check your oil feed rate. ANY plug or adaper should be coated thoroughly with hi-temp anti-sieze. Piston engines have problems; this is the RE-5's biggest one.....heat seizing and galling of spark plug/insert threads. Take the PLUG OUT once in a while and recoat it. zorg
