VIN 13411, has the earlier kickstart location. Really nice shape. Stored indoors.
Located in Connecticut, USA.
Has some interesting rear crash bars. Anyone know what company built those rear bars? Different rear shocks and the king/queen seat as well so I assume that it was modified for long daytrips with a passenger in mind.

Looking closely I spy some schrader fittings on the forks. Someone was putting effort into upgrading the suspension. Very cool.

The rear crash bars I believe are a Suzuki option. As we know the parts books have as many variations as the RE5 does. If you look at partzilla.com web site 1975 RE5, then take a look at the options page and there they are 98410-37700 R.H. and 94820-37700 L.H.
Wayne take a look at the fuel tank page and the picture shows the mystery early gas cap, but with the wrong part number. I think I have a little more information on that cap I will post later in the thread about the History By Numbers.

I looked at all the pictures but couldn't see one revealing the gas cap Hudson. It's a very late VIN for an early gas caps. Look forward to your comments.

Wayne I was referring to the picture ( illustration ) on the Partzilla.com online parts web site of the fuel tank. The option page shows the rear crash bar I quoted part numbers for.
The parts manual on this site do not show the same illustration as Partzilla.

Suzuki motorcycle 1975 RE5 fuel tank or option
I apologize for the lack of clarity, I hope this is clearer.
The 1972 GT750 option page on Partzilla.com shows the bars timpa mentioned for sale, same style, different part number.

The second partzilla image shows a front radiator guard that has the loop pattern of the fat 1" diameter "police" crash guard. It tapers in around the oil cooler whereas the smaller diameter guard has straight sides as it extends past the oil cooler. Perhaps the rear crash guards were built by the same manufacturer.

Thanks HUDSON. Reading your original post it's pretty clear you were referring to the Partzilla pages. I was looking at the Ebay ad while flicking between posts so got a little hung up on the pictures of that bike. My mind train tracks a bit these days. Thank you for the very easy to follow click trail. I'm amazed at how many parts they have listed as "in stock". The fuel cap numbers don't match my genuine Suzuki parts book either. FRAMITRON, parts books can have some mysterious things. Have a look at this early parts book. Ever seen a radiator grille like that? Funnily enough, that appears in the front "overview" section of the book but when you go to the actual page, it's the plastic grille we're all familiar with: By the way, the grille is real but to my knowledge never released on a production bike (thank you TYP110!)

Did anybody else already spot the really rare A&A rack?

Still holding air!! Impressive. Many forks designed to hold air don't after a couple of years.

Did anybody else already spot the really rare A&A rack? Tim I saw it and noticed that it looked like a quality item but I guess I'm ignorant to the A&A line of products and their scarcity. Do you have any of their items?
(I'll now go into a rabbit hole in this forum and online to learn about this company....)

And now I also need to learn about (the presumably aftermarket) pneumatic preload fork cap upgrades... I had no idea you could take a plain 70's conventional fork and add air to them without air and oil spurting everywhere. That is a nice idea for easily transitioning from daily ride to a fully loaded two-up road trip machine.

And that expanded mesh radiator grille definitely has the look of: "quick! get something on the prototype while the design department finishes up the drawings for the production grill tooling".

PIC attached of the A&A back rest and the Suzuki rack. Just guessing A&A was a local Los Angeles company.
