It's a bit disappointing to come to this site almost every day and see that only 5 to 10 people have logged into the site in the last 24 hours. Once in awhile there might be 15 to 20. The site is 11 years old if I remember right and to have that amount of logins just makes me feel like the site is a waste of time.
I can see where people don't want to pay for an image hosting service or they can't figure out a way around having to pay, but to have so few log ins after all this time and all the help that people have received on here over the years is unacceptable. I don't think that every post needs a photo, does it?
I couldn't have chosen a better moderator than Wayne. He is outstanding and has always been into making this site better. I even tried to change him to a site administrator, but apparently there can only be 1 administrator on the forum. That is how much I trust and appreciate all his work on the site. He is amazing!!
I sent Wayne an email a week or so ago and mentioned my concerns to him and that maybe I should put up a poll to see if there is still an interest in this site or not. Wayne and I are both curious what the results of the poll would be and we will decide from there if this site is worth the time and effort any longer.
It's not meant to be an encyclopedia for people to just check things out and not contribute in any way which seems to be the case now, except for a few people who I'm very aware of who they are. In my opinion, if people can't take the time to even log in then it's time to shut down and move on. Let's see what happens.

This site is an invaluable source of information, without it many RE5's would be still languishing in barns, sheds and garages unused due to small correctable faults and major problems, but this forum, the members and the information within has allowed the owners and buyers of these machines to rectify their faults and bring reliability and rideability to a bike that was regarded as an unreliable oddity best kept out of sight, a bike that nobody wanted is now a desirable classic and this is mainly due to this site. There are other forums the micapeak one is a little difficult to navigate, the only fault with this one is difficulty posting pictures but its easy to put a link to them, the Facebook site is popular as it is easy to post pictures but the technical content is very small compared to the proboard site. It would be a shame to loose it and the information it contains, I am as guilty an anyone else of not visiting for weeks but will change if it keeps the site active. I will bring your concerns to the attention of the Facebook forum and see if it improves the quantity of site visits. Regards Stuart.

Omg!!!! Please please keep this site open, I couldn't have built my re5 without all the advise and help I got from assembling a frame and Large box of bits into a sweet running bike that makes people smile and ask questions about all the time. I know if it goes wrong I will find the answer in her, or from someone on here. Please keep it open. Thanks Ian.

I wish there was no Facebook option, I hate having to be on Facebook just to visit the various forums. Its hard to have a technical discussion on Facebook as threads get lost in the general clutter. Its hard to find posts on Facebook and the search function is limited. Please keep this forum as it is a valuable resource regards Terry

I agree with Terry about the Facebook thing, it doesn’t hold and store info like a good “old fashioned” forum.
Our VJMC section had a forum that went quiet so the guy running it closed it down, our section has struggled for communication since.
This forum is THE go to place for anyone with a RE5, I myself don’t come on very often, and post even less, I’m not a technical person, the mere thought of digging into my carb fills me with dread (although it does need attention) so I feel my input would be futile.
This place is also the home of RE5 legends, it would be a tragedy if it closed.
I for one will sign in more regularly, all be it silently lurking about and reading your posts.

Facebook= light & fluffy photos and quick bits of info.
This forum is for more serious (maybe even verging on nerdy 😁) discussion. Used to have the light & fluffy stuff as well but as has been pointed out, fb is easier to post pictures.
I'm a big fan of this site and contribute when I can. I'd be very sad to see it go- what can we do to keep it open?

In my opinion, this forum about the RE5 is by far best. I consider it would be catastrophic should it desapear. In that case I would probably not be able to restore my second RE5.
I often come to the forum to find some information without logging in as it is not necessary to do it if I have nothing to write. The forum is probably much more active than it seams when looking at the logging number.

I feel the site is awesome. The amount of information on the site has helped me and so many others. People like Mr.Wayne Mr.Jess and so many others to list have helped with all the information they have put together. I would be willing to become a sponsor of the site with others if it would help keep it going. As far as the Facebook site goes I think people enjoy seeing what others r doing and where people r riding and yes it is easier to post pictures. I love both sites and willing to help keep it up and running. Thanks Aaron Lions

I feel so fortunate to have this forum available and to be a member. I want to acknowledge all the special, gifted, talented,
knowledgeable and most helpful members here, everyone, without naming individuals. We have a gold mine here of information and
friendship and the absolute best moderator by far to keep us all inline (grin).

I appreciate that this board is a work of passion and am thankfull to the administrator for all the energy put into keeping it going.
Please, hang in there, it is indispensable.
Unfortunately we are a small group of rotary nuts here and muli media is spreading us thin. Maybe we all need to spread the word and promote this board on other sites. Reach out to the whole collector bike community and bring them in to the board.
Everything needs to grow to keep going.

Maybe make a button we can copy and post on other sites to bring them directly to a welcome page.

I think it's a valuable resource. RE5s are not going to generate a lot of traffic, but the faithful will remain so. I check in once in awhile to see what's going on. Having owned five RE5s in the past, including a new one in 1975, I'll always be interested and someday may own another.
