Many thanks Wayne. I currently have no Pc and no way of adding photos via my phone. The story goes. There was yet another parted bike frame for sale earlier this year with title papers and cheap money. I bought it and set about on May 1st to build and save another bike from history. I had 95% of the parts needed to build up a bike from “Nothing but a frame” to a bike that is going on show 13/14 October at Carrol Nash Classic Bike Show.
The frame and other steel parts were all lightly powder coated, I had done 3 frame previously this way with good results. Fork were sent for hard chroming Guards / indicators/ etc sent for chroming . I picked out a primary housing with a 14k number to be close to frame number (14522) Rebuild gearbox and installed into frame.

The Propper Unit took longer that usual as i had to “Mix &Match” measure up some good used Apex and corner seals and replace all Viton rubbers . I stripped polished and rebuilt the wheels and sat back awaiting chrome parts to be returned.

Proper Job!
Folks don't understand what it takes to do that kind of a build.
Respect.

I rebuild the Speedo/Tacho unit using a tinted flip cover that someone may recognise ( Thanks ) The satin brush chrome looks great on there and the rear light . The wireing loom had to be altered slightly as the European switch gear doesn’t match with the US loom I had. But all fine now. I will get some photos from the show and maybe even a Trophy 🏆. Either way I have saved another RE5.
