New wing opened at barber.Red Re5 in new wing at barber. A little disappointed at the presentation. There were 7 flaws with the bike that I could count. I took some pictures and you should be able to identify 5 of them if I can post the pictures. Re5 barber by redbug2Re5 barber by redbug2

Finally. I'd heard a few years back that they had none on display but a few "out the back".
Look forward to the pictures.

Their Hercules, while a nice bike, is no where near stock...
Last time I was there, the had just finished construction on the new wing. It was not populated nor open.
At least they finally put an Re5 out.
Best,

Interesting radiator grill.
Brake rotors are nicely drilled.
Missing some labels.
Luggage rack is AM.
Color looks a little off... (that could be my moniter)
Oil filter is AM.
No seat strap.
Other than that... Nice looking bike.
Glad they finally put one out...
Best

You found a few more things wrong than I noticed. (I missed Seat Strap, labels, and Oil filter) I did not hold the luggage rack against it. It's in the new section of the museum, 38k miles on it. So now they have a Norton, Hercules, and the RE-5 for rotaries. Two were running that I saw. Turbotodd's award winning red 75 and a nice 76. Did not get a picture of Turbotodd's. But I did get a few pics of a low mileage 76. 20171006_145057 by redbug220171006_145112 by redbug220171006_145117 by redbug2

Interesting radiator grill as well. Reminds me of a prototype grill only retro style, interesting.
I wondered about the color as well, could also be attributed to the museum lights or my monitors color, too.

I wanted to go, maybe next time. . Nice looking bike regardless of part/paint correctness. At least it's more presentable than the Hercules, there were parts of that bike that I couldn't unsee.

Here's my list of flaws:
Incorrect grill Missing plastic knob on Left Side cover. Some kind of funky lever on left side of handlebar. Not sure what that did? A brass flow meter valve connected to chain oiler. They were probably trying to regulate oil flow to chain? You can barely see it in the photo but there was an on-off switch under the tank. The kick start is pointing to it. (I was not counting this one) Drilled disk And Jess added that there is no seat strap, wrong oil filter, and some missing labels. I felt the color was correct in the museum. Looks more orange in the photo. I usually don't ding a bike for a period correct rack or add on although I would have presented it without the rack.

Hi,
According part list there is no plastic knob on the left side cover, it's only on the right side. So for this the bike is OK.

Hi, According part list there is no plastic knob on the left side cover, it's only on the right side. So for this the bike is OK. Jean-Denis good catch. I had a funky lever on my handlebars which went to a trikit products rear shock leveler. It was a ATF filled pump up for the rear shocks preload. Worked OK but didn't have a hydraulic stop in the shock so it would bottom out abruptly. The OE 1000 shocks fixed that. Regards Tim

I can't make out the on/off switch on the right side in the photo but I wonder if it's an owner installed override to the cooling fan ?

Wayne, I'll bet you are right on the fan override. I thought I had taken a picture of the switch, and here it is: 2017-10-12_08-16-00 by redbug2Would love to pull off the tank and see what the handlebar lever did. What an awkward position to reach while riding. This bike had 23,000 miles on it and owner probably made a lot of fixes without the aid of this forum. Amazing how many bikes show up on ebay with under 6000 miles on them. Owners probably gave up after one year when they could not get it running again? Good to know about the screw on the side cover. My bad. I fabricated a knob thinking that it was missing on mine. Now I can go back to a screw to make it authentic.
