Morning gents,
Well the RE5A runs like i said, but she's so uneven she sounds like a Ducati with pmt (well, not that bad but you get the gist), she's also very hard to start from cold. I have the obligatory ultrasonic cleaner, vapour blaster, parts washer and compressor so cleaning/drying is never a problem.
Are all the carb rubbers/seals etc still available?
I believe it was Wayne or Jess that said theres a seal/gasket on/around the AP that allows fuel through hence the clamp trick, well she's definitely leaking badly there as she creates a pool in the bottom of the air intake pipe
I've already printed and laminated the carb section from the service manual, but would appreciate knowing what to watch for and the best way to start the dismantling process. Only i dont want spring's and ball's flying all over the place (ball's again!), i'm used to other types of carbs but this is my first strip of one of these so haven't really got a Scooby.
Cobby

Hi Cobby contact Jess for carby gaskets before you pull it apart , they are a complicated carby but if you have done any car carbies it will help , just look at all the diagrams and make sure you put everything in its right place and dont loss the needle in excelerator pump , Jess use to do carby overhauls for RE owners , urs Al
