Boyer Bransden do an electronic unit at a resonable price, I've been using one for years as have other RE5 owners. www.boyerbransden.com/

I've been doing this for almost 20 years... I would LOVE to see any info on the Boyer conversion of an Re5.
I would appreciate any info, insights, schematics, model numbers on the boyer conversion.
Thanks! and Best Regards,
Jess

Zig,
Saw it... got one on order... looking forward to giving it a try!
Do you use the Re5 coil or aftermarket? It will certainly help as CDI boxes are getting scarce.
Best,
Jess

Hi Jess, Boyer Bransden supplied the coil as well. I've managed to find the receipt from the year 2000.... KIT00069 ID IGN.CONTACT ASST. NEG.EARTH. COIL00005 12 VOLT SINGLE LUCAS 17P12 REP See the ignition module fitted in my RE5A here www.angelfire.com/retro/roadster/index-12.htmlHope that helps, it was already fitted when I bought my RE5A over three years ago and has been reliable, by the way Jess you know me better as Lee from the U.K. Z

Looking forward to it ZiggyLee... Got one ordered.
Every time I see your bike and the job you did, I am impressed all over again. As you Brits would say..."Proper Job Mate"
I will let you know how it works for me.
Thanks and Cheers!

Do you have any info on the plugs you switched to and the adapter. I'm guessing you went with a rotary NGK. Did you use the 7s or 9s?

Hi Shep,
The plug I use is the NGK Iridium type, DR9EIX.
The adapter is made from a dead RE5 spark plug, using the dead RE5 plug to make an adapter ensures that the adapter material is correct as are the threads and the taper seat.
My design of adapter means you can safely remove it if you should want to.

Shep,
Send me an email, address on my website and I'll return a couple of photos for you.
I only use this adapter because for some reason my RE5 kills plugs, if it didn't then I would still be using original plugs.
