After going back out to the shop and fighting the tire/wheel problem, I did get the rear tire to seat in the proper location. As I said in my previous message, I deflated and juggled the tire around slightly each time. I had read elsewhere (Randakk Gold Wing site) their recommended tire mounting lube was Armor All (or similar). I used up what I had left in trying to get them right so I started using a soap and water mix in a spray bottle. Will go back out this morning and try to get the front tire to cooperate. I gave up last night with no success. I did know about the paint spot being the light point on the tire and to align with the valve stem, and thankfully, Bridgestone paints a prominent yellow dot on the tires I have. Some tires I have mounted had no such paint spot. I did overinflate slightly to get the bead to seat properly. When mounting tubeless tires and having to overinflate somewhat to get the beads to seat, when that second one "pops" into place, no matter how many times I've done it, it still scares the s*** out of me. I may try WD-40 as per Brian's recommendation, maybe as a last resort. I'm somewhat surprised you use it for a tire lube being petroleum based, but hey, if it works, use it. Thanks Tim and Brian for the suggestions.

I have Battalax 46 on their way. Got my rear tire first and what a stiff sidewall!(good thing). I am not going to mess with them this time and have them
mounted and balanced. Possibly the rear tire may be slightly shorter than my old spitfire? Tim
edit: While waiting for the front tire to ship, I installed my rear tire and it feels nice and neutral so far matched to my old spitfire front.

I have the Bridgestone Battlax 46's mounted on my bike. They seem good at this point but haven't ridden a whole lot of miles on them, nor did I ride it any distance with any other tire than the very old Goodyears that the PO had on it when I bought it. Feels good at highway speeds, but can't compare to others. As mentioned earlier, have liked the BStone Spitfires on other bikes, but they are no longer available new, and these are the recommended (by Bridgestone) replacements. Maybe too soon to tell, but I like them so far. They are a modern tire and, of course, aren't close to a period correct tread pattern, so those that are looking for that type of tire will have to choose something else. We'll see how they work over time.
