Well, picked up another parts bike with a free engine from Jess. He did a compression test and it checked out well. I'll post the tape later this evening. The parts bike I picked up has several parts that are in better condition than the one I'm working on. Speedometer pod in excellent shape, better rims, nice fuel tank, and overall in better shape. Now I gotta decide which frame to go with!

Don,
That is correct, if you remembered the oring underneath. It is an air bleed jet.
Cheers

It's not supposed to be there but checked my carb to be sure.

The hole looks like it's drilled. Was afraid you'd tell me this!

that hole can be taped and put a screw and washer in it to seal up .

Don,
No need to fret. Al is right. Just tap it, use a short screw and some fuel proof epoxy and it will be fine.
Besides... I can fix you up with another carb body. No issue.
Best,

Starting to put it back together. First the carb, Jess's modifications, battery-air boxes, then fire it up.

Choke works. Going the lawn mower battery route. O-ring is rough on this, any suggestions for a replacement? Checked several sources on line and it's discontinued. The Suzuki parts number is: 34825-35310 o ring, it goes on the fuel level fuel tank gauge assembly. Pulled apart and cleaned up the petcock. Replaced the o-ring and internal gasket. The internal filters are shot, thinking about using an external one and a cut off valve just in case.

Great news Jess. Thanks as always! Heading west early this week then east of you Thursday but am traveling with a team and won't have time to stop by. I'll email you about the o-ring and a few other items.
