Another test that I haven't tried is to weigh them on a sensitive postal scale. A heavy float is quite rare. Tim

hi Tim I'm just trying to stop the leaky carby as I have new needle and seats (metal needle tips ) , I may try neoprene needles , but they shouldn't leak if the float is closing the needle properly !.I have ordered a new float and am going to try it , as I said I have had problems years ago with dropping floats in Mikuni carbies on cars, and could not fault the old one put a new one in and problem fixed , so lets see ,I will keep you posted , I'm sure the guys in the states would remember the Ford V8 with the plastic carbies had big problems with sinking floats while parked !!!!! fitted new float last night and no more weaping out of carby , so it was faulty floats as I thought , the new one is identicial to original ones YA
