Re5 in the Iron Butt

Has anyone been following the progress of the Iron Butt??

I just found this news

The First Suzuki Rotary Bites the Dust
Not that it’s any big surprise, but Barry Bertram’s RE-5 has died in West Palm Beach, Florida, before the end of Day 1. Since the report is not coming from an RE-5 expert, we are not sure exactly what happened, but it apparently involves a broken engine casting, bad noises, and lots of oil, so it can’t be good

Bad luck but good on him for having a go !!!!!!!!

Hi all, I am new to the board and this is my first post. I am a member of the Iron Butt Association, and I have a good Friend riding in the rally so I have been fowling it. I heard the first RE broke a chine and that cracked his trans. case, and the 2nd RE5 had electoral problems in Dubuque Iowa and is out too.

I wonder how our board member is doing? I hope he is still running. He seems to have a lot of preparation and planning for his ride so hopefully he is still riding and making our RE5's look good.
