Kerry I would be carful if you are de scaling and back flushing with chemical de scalier, you may end up with pin holes in the core, they are under allot of pressure from the heat it has to displace. You DO NOT want to boil up your rotor. You could get it pressure tested when you have flushed it. I have some Re production radiators due in the end of Feb that are about the same cost as a repair if yours is repairable, The flow internally has been improved from the original and temp checks over the radiator is more even . I have orders and will post photos and results when they arrive . The thermostat is quite a common size but 71c makes it difficult to find , I tried a BMC Min stat 30 years ago but that's 10c higher, Some other modern bikes or cars may be ok nowadays . Remember when replacing your stat to put vent hole at the top and do not put it in back to front

Hi,
I changed my thermostat last week and it solved all my carburetion problems. The diameter is exactly 52 mm. I cannot give the other dimensions as mine had been modified and damaged...but p. 35 of the service manual it is possible to get them from the picture.
I don't know if there are some standards in thermostats, but would it be the case, it would be interesting to share the information as they are no more NOS to find on ebay (I bought one of the two last at $ 75 last week...).
Best regards

Thanks I thought to descale it with a chemical would not be good . Will try water and air and let you know the out come. Rog your reproduction radiators sound good at a ball park figure what would it cost to get one to Australia,or does someone know where to get done here.I have been to radiator shops and when you say motorbike, they go blank. After all its just a smaller version of a car.I just want to make it reliable, and not worrying about a high temperature reading. Regards to all

Hi Guy's
The Reproduction radiators will look and fit the same as original one including the small outlet pipe for the header tank. I will post photo's when I get them, Its taken a lot of time and research to get the correct core and re fabricate the tanks but the end results you will see soon.

At last I have a photo to show of sample promised 2 moths ago. as you can see its still not rite but the manufacture is now modifying his rollers to add the correct pressing pattern . This sample has gone to a member to get him on the road while waiting on the next sample before the batch is made. I will keep you up dated . Rog

Very nice looking.
I appreciate and understand the tenacity that it takes to get "hard" parts made.
Do you have any idea what the cost will be?
