I have recently acquired an NOS engine proper, in a block purchase of parts that I made.
With every year that passes, I have come to realize that the projects that I have envisioned doing are lees likely to come to fruition. (too many projects, too little time)
As many are aware, up until 10-12 years ago, they were available. However, that time has passed, as all good things come to an end.
The last one I saw on ebay went for 3750.00, buy it now, and was gone in less than one day.
I will entertain reasonable offers and will ship overseas.
Be forewarned, overseas shipping is very pricey. Also, if you are overseas, I feel your pain with customs and VAT, but I am still subject to audit, so please... don't even ask.
The unit weighs 70 pounds and is in the factory shipping container so it will arrive to you safely.
I would rather the unit go to someone in need.
PM me if interested.
Best Regards,
P.S., once sold, I will make a note in the thread...

I take it a crate motor doesn't come with carb or accessories?

It is just the "engine proper" unit as named by Suzuki.
Another way to describe it is the Rotor sandwich. Transmission, alternator, carburator all attach to it.
The Service manual has detail about it.

NOS Motors do come out of the box with the counterweights... Just an FYI My bad! Of course they do because the counterweights are balanced to that particular rotor! There's a handy tip, folks. If rebuilding or mucking around with these engines, never mix up the counterweights or your motor might shake itself to bits... So I had a blonde moment Oh and Jeff, that's a very used proper unit (70-80,000kms), not a NOS. Aussie NOS- pah!

Andy said, the counterweights are balanced to that particular rotor! There's a handy tip, folks. If rebuilding or mucking around with these engines, never mix up the counterweights or your motor might shake itself to bits... Currently two ebay dismantlers are selling balanced flywheels. Tim

So that makes the smoothness of rotaries a farce !, why did Suzuki bother with a single and all the balance weights ?, they might as well made the twin 1000 cc ,if they did it probably would have sold heaps !!!!!!!!!!!, fast, reliable , SMOOTH , Just my look at it , hope someone that really needs your Proper unit ,

The weights are specific to the motor however the rotating assembly must be balanced because not all rotors are the exact same weight. Example: Mazda 13b counterweights look identical between S4 & S5, the best way to differentiate the two is by weighing each. If one were to build a 13b with spare parts laying around without checking this. . your motor might shake itself to bits... and will do just that, I know AND. . even staying with one series, there are different rotor weight codes for that one series. So as Tim has already said. . the counterweights are balanced to that particular rotor! I also know that example could be thought of as a moot point since there are different series mentioned above but regardless, the rotating assembly (e-shaft, rotors/s, and weights) must be balances to do a proper rebuild. Do you have to? ? not necessarily but it's best to. . Hope that helps! If not, pictures speak a thousand words. . I had a S5 front counterweight on my motor. That, as well as this type of abuse is asking for trouble!
