The complete clutch seems good price @ £120 I had a None runner here a while ago and it has new type sprag with No washer and the sprag would not work or it would jam .

Thanks guys, i will open up the engine and check it all out. Could have been caused by the oil? What oil do you use? As i have a spare engine, i should have a spare clutch, hopefully in good condition. But still need a starter motor.

The gearbox oil needs changing regularly. Yhe oil lubes allot, clutch, gearbox, tacho drive, oil pumps, primary chain, starter gear and sprag clutch. it becomes contaminated very quickly and ends up like cutting past and wears out bearings and primary chain quickly. I will check postage cost to your country and PM you.

Certainly looks like the starter clutch/sprag has failed or been installed incorrectly and grabs the starter motor gear and spins it with the clutch basket as you drive the bike. That will destroy every starter you put in the bike. Exhaust off, clutch case off, primary chain off, clutch basket off and have a really good look at the starter clutch/sprag on the inside/gearbox side of the starter basket. It should allow the gear on the back of the clutch basket to grab one way and spin freely the other way. If it's locked up both ways then you've found your problem. Good luck! If you can duplicate the locking up that will add some assurance of not taking out another starter. As Andy suggests, you can put a socket on the rotor side and pull the spark plug to ease compression and with the help of an assistant see if you can duplicate the starter turning/ or jamming as you rotate the engine, clockwise top backwards. Please let us know what you find.

I will already have one starter sent from Jacky Lowther from Facebook owners club. Many thanks for your help.
