Hi guys
The last couple of times I've had my bike out I've been having issues with it being harder than usual to start (it's always taken a fair bit of cranking), coughing and missing slightly in the higher rev range (4500+), not wanting to idle reliably and often stalling if revs aren't held on when the clutch is in.
I cleaned out my spare carb the best I possibly could using a small ultrasonic cleaner plus a good soaking in carb cleaner and tried that but it only made things much worse - now it won't sounds and performs like the secondary circuit isn't working at all. So, off came that carb and on when the original again; back to how it was, but at least it ran in the upper band better.
i then took it for a run up the road and I could feel it was down on power, would want to stall if the revs were let drop below 1800, cough and fart at at all rev ranges, and finally when I pulled into my driveway it konked out all together and has refused to start since.
I checked points, changed spark plug, checked fuel flow from tank triple checked both carbs for visible contamination, float levels, gasket condition, etc, etc. so then I decided to take the exhaust manifold off to see whether ther apex seals had stuck agian. Then, that's when I discovered this ominous drop of coolant seemingly weeping from between the side plate and the centre housing :-(. It appears to be damp from a point about half way up the exhaust port between the two housings, and I can't see any signs of coolant leaking from anywhere else in the system and dripping down.
Im not really sure which way to proceed from this point, so I'm all ears if anyone has any suggestions?!
cheers
