Ron (shavron) and I did manage to get together today. The weather was great although a bit on the hot and humid side. Ron and his wife rode in on there Goldwing which is a beautiful bike. That bike is loaded with accessories. What a great riding machine!! Within minutes after they looked over my RE5 Ron's wife asked for my polishing and buffing supplies and started to detail it. To say I was amazed is an understatement!! She did a great job on it. The whole time we all sat there outside chatting about our bikes. Ron is a lucky man for sure. I have never met a woman who is so much into bikes and as knowledgeable about them. Absolutely amazing!! I have a few pictures that I will post later on. I forgot to take a picture of the Goldwing and I really wanted some. I did get to go for a ride on it though as a passenger when we went to get some more cleaning supplies. Really nice riding bike. I really look forward to getting my RE5 back together and on the road so I can take the ride to get together with them again. They are both really good people and I am very happy we got together. I think I forgot to say THANK YOU for all that you did and the very enjoyable time. We managed to take a short ride together as I went with them on my H2 when they left until I got to my Mothers house which was on there route. Once again, Thank You to both of you. It was a pleasure to meet you.

Thats great you met someone from the board here, its slim pickings i'll ever meet any board members in my location unless they come on a vacation trip,,LOL. The Goldwings are what i call 'soft cruisers', even back to the days of the original mid 70s model they were quite an amazing concept. A very quiet bike that works for its intended purpose, it does everything its supposed to and more, if you live in the US or a country with large distances, this bike makes traveling them 100% enjoyable. From what you've said Rons got the bike and the girl, a winning combination. Maybe he will post some pics if he took any at your meeting.

Here's where Ron and I were hanging out while Karen was detailing my bike. Ron & Karen Ron was breaking out a sweat also. Here he is showing Karen a spot that she missed buffing up. ;D I should have brought the gas tank out for the pictures but the bike is still looking very nice as it is.

They were here at my place for around 3 1/2 hours and I would say at least 3 of those hours Ron's wife was cleaning my bike, non stop. I didn't notice this when I posted the pictures but if you look at the bottom picture you can even see her hand in the wheel buffing away.
I would say they are within an hour now of returning home. They definitely chose the right day to stop over as today is cloudy with threats of thunderstorms with hail. It is coming in from the west so hopefully they stayed ahead of it as they are headed east.
Ron wants to get a 2 stroke now. I'll find out soon if my H2 gives off a strong 2 stoke smoke as I was leading the way on the ride with them so they would know where to go. To the best of my knowledge, it only smokes pretty bad when I first start out on a ride and lightens up once it is warmed up.

Gary, We (Karen & I) had a great time. ;D Karen says, now that the bike is looking good you have to finish puting it back together and get it on the road. We did beat the bulk of the rain & no hail on our ride home. The H2 (smoker) smoked a bit at first but, seemed to disapate as soon as the bike warmed up. Next time we ride together we'll get some video of you. Karen also liked the H2,she says we have room one in the garage

I finally finished up the buffing today. This bike takes longer to do than any of my others even with half of it done already by Karen. Next project is getting the tank done. I also have to get the frame grommet for the gas tank. Maybe I will stop in at the Suzuki dealer today to see if I can order it. I'm willing to bet that the grommet was on the bike when I removed the tank but I can't find it.
