My A, being a US delivered bike, is fitted with the US long indicator stems.
I'd like to convert them to the shorter Aus/Euro stems.
I've got plenty of the shorter ones as spares, does anyone know how difficult it is to swap out the stems on the later A/GT style indicators?

It can't be that hard to swap them out. Basically it is just a threaded pipe with one wire running through it. It might be harder to trace that one wire back and unplug it and get it loose so you can pull it out of the stem. Once that wire is loose disassemble the turn signal, loosen the lock nut and unscrew it from the stem. Then loosen the locknut on the other side of the stem and remove it. I would think you could do all four in less than 2 hours, even with alcohol involved.
Some of my bikes have long stems, some have short stems, some have the headlamp switch locked on, some don't, I think they all got mixed up by Suzuki.

If you're keen on machining them, find below. I thought that RR could save you the trouble.
Mind you, I"m talking about the spacers that are used on the rear blinkers, not the chrome shaft itself.
18 mm diameter by 48 mm long.
8 mm thread in one end to take a bolt through from inside the mudguard and 10 mm the other to take the flasher stalk.
One end has two flats to allow a 14mm crescent wrench to fit.
The flats are machined down 2 mm each at the deepest point. Each flat is about 14 mm long and 8 mm wide.

Evening All, Some indicator stems I made earler, 303 stainless then mirror polished. The top and bottom stems are original bits in the middle stainless. Regards Stuart.
