Hi Mike, there were four of these at Markham Moor Lorry Park today, only 2 RE5's, Guy & me.
Nice bike, if I had more room in the garage I would serously consider getting one.
Regards Stuart.

head says norton i.e better fuel economy, more power, smoother but heart says RE5 i.e more character.more quirks etc, on a 180 mile run last weekend the norton averaged 56 imp mpg riding at fairly high speeds

I think your head is right. I had a brief ride on one back in about 2000 courtesy of Dave Cameron, editor of the ROC newsletter. It just felt so "sorted".
And then listening to Kim Hunter's Norton on the dyno and seeing the graph.
But as Dave pointed out, give the Suzuki a break, Norton developed that bike for 20 years before releasing. Unfortunately of the few I know of down under, they are priced around the low to mid twenty K, out of my league.
And as I tell people, I'm the first one to tell you why the RE5 didn't sell. But I like riding it because when I'm on it, I know I'm on something different. As you say Mike, more character and quirks.
