Hi Gary Is the base OK on your seat? If so, RK Leightons in Birmingham www.rk-leighton.co.uk/ do marvelous restorations and repairs. Mine was done for about £115 which included welding up the base. Thanks for this - but my bike hasn't got a seat to cover! Garry.

Looks Great. Compare my" Leighton " covered seat on the left and the NOS seat on the right Your seat looks fantastic and close to looking like the NOS seat. Put my name on one , Thanks Mike, your reserch and hard work has paid off and will help some frustrated owners out with there split/rusted seats, Best Rog Attachments:

Compare my" Leighton " covered seat on the left and the NOS seat on the right Rog, are you sure that the NOS is on the right ? The curved "pulled down" look right at the back of the seat on the right is typical of Am seat covers. The one on the left looks more NOS. Could you confirm. Thanks, Wayne

Hi Wayne. My seat I bought of Sam about 15 years ago, still have the original one that had split. I have added a extra layer of foam , The other bikes in Photo are Martins NOS French Blue Bike and his UK Red bike. The covers and print are the same as mine may be i added too much foam in mine. It will soon squash again with some riding . Best Rog Attachments:

Thanks Rog. The extra foam would explain it.
Unfortunately no AM seat cover seems able to get the rear of the seat correct. It has that subtle little "kick up" of the foam right at the back.
However, if enough of us get the AM stuff, who's gonna know the difference !
Cheers, Wayne

hi all the seats are now ready to be made.we have tried to get as close to original as we can even the base base all the dips and high bits like the original metal base but due to trying to get it as close as possible and not going for the cheaper smooth base look. set up costs i.e jig foam mould and seat cover press etc were a lot higher each finished seat now works out at £160 cost price and i need to sell 20 seats just to break even at that price.if people who said the want 1 and price is to high for them i will cancel ther order but if you still want 1 let me know as i will be ready to start shipping mid to end of jan.i have ordered 20 to start with and wil have th eprice for new foams, covers and bases seperately shortly regards mike.p.s if you are interested pm me where you are and i can send you what the total cost would be including shipping as i now have 1 boxed up ready to go so i can get shipping prices

Hello Mike,
Excellent stuff, £160.00 sounds fine, actually I would say it's a bargain considering all of the work necessary to make such a close copy so I'll include a bit more...... Let me know when you would like some of my hard earnt cash.
Regards, Joe.

I've got some foam and a replica cover, just no pan. I'd imagine shipping may be quite a bit cheaper to get a bare pan into the states. But I'm very interested even if it comes complete (save me the aggrevation of doing it wrong).
