Much appreciate all the discussion- love the spark plug timing method. Used it on three bikes last night- what a snap (pun not intended).
I've got most of the bikes sorted so am getting time to experiment and test. I think I need to go into the advance springs and just see what's what. I have changed settings over ten years ago but can't remember what I did- moving from 11 to 13 or otherwise. I think also my primary rider had one spring and I may have fitted two. Also Dan has mentioned thinner and thicker springs.
I think from memory the springs are on pins so may not be able to bend them. However springs from a different bike as suggested is an option. I really need to be able to get a baseline of how it was supposed to be. And here I was wondering why you'd want an NOS dizzy case with all its mechanisms as recently sold on ebay.
