Using my rather average French language ability, i am posting there what the writer said about the RE5.
The RE5 was an answer to a question nobody was asking. Nobody had asked for worse fuel consumption and higher running costs than say a GT750, nor inferior performance.
But imagine a Suzuki RE5 built in 2015 rather than 1975. Electronic fuel injection, an ECU controlling things, 2 rotors instead of 1 but very compact via current technology, plus a modern ignition set-up and the latest exhaust system know how. 100 bhp at the rear wheel and 35 mpg would make for a very good alternative to a UJM.

Still wouldn't pass Euro emissions so would be dead in the water!

Yes i agree, the second paragraph was theirs also, which i realise i didn't make clear.
(Emissions paranoia makes me laugh in this country. I am as nature loving as anyone on the planet BUT when i see that we have a new house being sold every 3 minutes, with all the pollution that causes directly or indirectly, concreting over our countryside and displacing and killing off our wildlife and greenery, when on holiday i saw coal fired power stations going up every year in China, when i see the pollution caused by people via car growth, especially in other countries much busier than ours which have NO emissions controls at all and human population explosion in the UK (we grow by 1,000+ people every single day in the UK) i find it laughable that we are so stringent on motorcycle emissions. It is literally like draining the Thames by using a thimble. A drop in the ocean, so to speak. Let's worry far more about the lorry load of waste that goes into our seas every hour of every day, that upsets me far more.)
