Hi Guys, Do the two main air bleed jets (#29 on the exploded carb diagram) have O rings? They are shown with no O rings on the diagram, but mine had them, and it looks like the jet is designed for them.
Thanks.

Those jets do not use an o-ring. Make sure the carb body is clean under those jets, ask me.... don't ask me how I know.

Thanks for the reply. Err, how do you know about cleaning under the jets?

It's amazing how much difference a change to the primary main jet makes. With the 87.5 main, even the idle is effected - which is weak, the exhaust is quieter, and the bike dies when you crack open the throttle. It's incredible that a change to the 100 PMJ for my bike makes so much of a difference to many areas of the power delivery. I still can't get rid of the surging around 3k though.

I have had no experience with a 100 PMFJ. I can say some bikes with a 90PMFJ may cause an over rich stumble. The RE5 carburetor idle circuit continues and has some effect higher up in the rev range than a standard slide Mikuni in my opinion.
r, and the bike dies when you crack open the throttle
Sounds like something is still clogged.

I use Standard 87.5 in my bikes. I have tried bigger sizes in the past with no success. I know of others riding very nicely with 100 jet . It is my opinion that the over size jet compensates for a low float level or some other blockage of perrished diagram. Ultrasonic clean with detergent and compressed air dry thoroughly before installing jets. Check float valve and float level and Install New bowl gasket from Stuart and tighten bowl firmly.

I agree, the larger jet is a bandaid for some other undiagnosed problem. The bikes can be made to run perfectly with stock sizes. However, I do appreciate how frustrating the set up can become. If the 100 gets you on the road, I understand.
